Hearts Educators was honored to be invited to the National Youth Week Stakeholder Consultative Meeting, chaired by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kangwa Chileshe. The meeting brought together key stakeholders to discuss the proposed amendments to the National Youth Development Act, a critical law that shapes how young people are supported, protected, and empowered in Zambia.
This consultative meeting provided an important platform for youth-serving organisations, civil society, and government representatives to share their perspectives on how the Act can be strengthened to better respond to the realities facing young people today. Discussions focused on ensuring that the law reflects current social, economic, and developmental needs, especially for vulnerable and marginalised youth.
Hearts Educators was proud to be in attendance and to contribute to this national dialogue. As an organisation working closely with children and young people in underserved communities, we understand how policies and legal frameworks directly affect access to education, protection, and opportunities for growth.
Our participation in this meeting reflects our commitment not only to service delivery, but also to advocacy, ensuring that the voices and needs of young people are represented in the spaces where decisions about their futures are made.
